A seminar lead by Bruce Wellman

Jointly sponsored by School District No. 68 (Nanaimo-Ladysmith), School District No.45 (West Vancouver), School District No. 48 (Sea to Sky) and Learning Forward B.C., educational leaders across roles came together to re-examine present assumptions and practices and to construct new learning environments that are relevant in the 21^st Century.

Two themes or big ideas emerged as a result of the conversation:

• The importance of developing communities of practice where goals are clarified, problems are solved and decisions are made.
• The need to explore roles, responsibilities and intentions of group leaders so that capacities are built and learning for groups and group members accelerated.
