Indigenous Story Telling: Pedagogy to explore the First Peoples Principles of Learning
in our Classrooms

The purpose of this late afternoon/ evening  session is to engage in the indigenous pedagogy of storytelling.

Learning Forward  BC and the Coquitlam School District invite cross-role education teams to an inspiring evening to exploring the First  Peoples Principles of Learning through  the indigenous pedagogy of story telling. Participants will leave with ideas and strategies to implement in a classroom setting at any level.

When: Tuesday,  May 7  , 2019 4:00 - 7:30 pm

Join Coquitlam School District staff to:

  • 4:00 - 4:30  Snacks and a tour our numeracy & literacy labs (Mentor Teachers will host)
  • 4:30 Traditional Welcome
  • 4:55 Listen to an Aboriginal Storyteller & learn about Trickster Symbolism
  • Engage in Story Workshop to create your own legend

Cost: $55 (student teacher rate: $30) Includes snacks served at 4:00 and and light dinner
